ASUS Zenbook Prime UX31A-DB71 13.3-Inch Discounts

Lousy Asus Customer Service (Seattle, WA United States) :
I used to buy Asus productsd all the time. I recently bought a Zenbook. Great computer, until the power socket went bad. It took two weeks for them to get back to me with an RMA number. Had to pay for shipping, then the service center sent me an email saying they wanted me to pay for shipping back. Got it back, but had other problems. 6 weeks later, I have been able to use it for less than two of them. Their only answer is "Call and get an RMA and send it back for repair. They won't refund or replace it or send me a temporary to use.
I will never buy Asus again.

HJR (America) :
Was excited to unpack this unit. Boot up was quick, but immediately noted difficulty with wi-fi receiver dropping signal from the wireless router. This happen both close-up and away from the router, both places where other wi-fi equipped units we own have no difficulty at all. I think Asus got a bad batch of wi-fi antenna/receiver chips. My was a reconditioned unit. Want to bet that it was returned due to the wi-fi problems? So...I'm sending it back for credit. I'll give the ACER S5 a shot next, hoping to have better luck the next go around.

Kwok Ng (San Jose, CA United States) :
My wife's company stopped supporting the VPN for Mac. I need to buy her a Windows laptop just like her MacBook Air. After doing the research on ultra books, ASUS UX31A and Dell XPS 13 are the two final candidates. I selected UX31A over XPS 13 because it has the built-in SD card reader and 1920 x 1080 resolution. I was trying to buy the UX31A-DB52 because it has 256 SSD and Windows 7 Professional. Unfortunately, ASUS still cannot build enough to satisfy the demands, so I bought the DB51 which has a 128 SSD and Windows 7 Home instead. Of course, it is $200 cheaper. The laptop is very solid. It does not look and feel cheap. At first, I felt the Internet browsing was slow. It always stalls few seconds before displaying a page. After I disabled the McAfee Internet Security, the web pages are loaded very fast. I finally uninstalled the McAfee software. I really do not know what ASUS is thinking. They installed this software to slow down the browser. Some people may think it is a hardware problem, and return the laptop. The only complaint I'd have, so far, is the touchpad, but it is not that bad. I think I am just so used to the MacBook's touchpad. Even DB51 has the i5 CPU, the SSD drive seems fast enough to compromise the slowness from the CPU. For the price, I think it is a good buy.

Alexandra Ladyzhensky (okeechobee ,fl usa) :
The product is everything you could ask for and more, it's so simple to use, and such a great quality, for a pretty great price, the shipping came faster than I expected, and the product itself was more than I was looking for, I'm currently using this laptop for school, but you'll see you can use it for more than just school. It's really a great product, and I'm sure you'll have no doubts when you get it, just like I did. A great buy. Although one thing it doesn't come with Microsoft office, or any of the above, so you'll have to buy that, but other than that, it's a great and convinced product.

Houston Heineman (Detroit) :
I bought his laptop looking for a cheap, but well made laptop for school. And that is exactly what I got. I found the 2 gigs of RAM to be rather lacking, so I upgraded to 8 gigs of RAM and that leveled all of the computer's performance issues for me. The 2 gigs was basically all taken up by the operating system, keep in mind when looking at this computer.
Asus is a top of the line manufacturer, and this is a well made computer, I'm happy.
I would NOT buy this for any kind of gaming, just for word processing and internet browsing.
What might seem like a glorified net book, is a good product to have!

Kena (Bellingham, WA) :
Bought this as a Christmas gift and was very disappointed that the wrong power cord was shipped. I called the manufacturer and was told that they would ship the correct one but it was never received. Had to borrow one from a friend. Other than that, the product is ok.

McKayla Evans (Bowling Green, KY) :
My macbook pro finally expired of old age and sadly i've been kicked off the parental gravy train so I couldn't afford a new one. I considered the sony e series but i'm happy I went with the ASUS. The size, speed, and capacity is perfect for me. I have no complaints about windows 8 and had no problem learning how to use it. I got my laptop before the estimated delivery date and the price was almost $100 dollars less than at Best Buy. Good buy. Hopefully it lasts me awhile.

M. Klinker (Cleveland, OH) :
ASUS has been a manufacturer of motherbords for about 20 years. I know because I bought them when I built PC's. I think they make the best on the market. I am not sure how long they have been making and selling computers, but Yeah!! I bought this one for my daughter to replace her PC. I am not so sure about the W8 thing, and she complained a bit at first, but she is doing very well with it now, and while she wont admit to it, I doubt she would switch back to W7 if she had the chance to do so. THis laptop has more bang for the buck with more memory and larger hard drive and better motherboard and chipset than other laptops for noticeably less $. Rest assured the quality is there. She has been using for about 3 months now and is very happy with the machine and that dad bailed her out... again.

Kimberly (USA) :
I absolutely love my Asus A55A laptop! I can play my games on here (mainly the sims3 and simcity) on the plus side i can get all my work related projects done too =D Its size is just perfect for me. Not too big nor small. Weight is perfect too seeing how i can comfortably sit in my bed and just relax. which was VERY important to me.

BuffCat (Boulder, CO USA) :
After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to purchase this laptop anyway. I loved the size and features and decided to risk it. Very glad I did. The slimness and weight make it super portable, and I have been impressed with the battery life. The keyboard isn't perfect, but after typing on it for two weeks I don't have a problem with it, just took some getting used to. Reviews that dislike the trackpad confuse me, as it's the best one I've ever used. I know I have the Elan trackpad with the newest drivers, but I find it perfect. It's responsive, spacious, clicks are accurate and it is smooth. The screen too is bright and I love the extended resolution. This is my first metal computer, so I'm worried about my metal watchband scratching it while I type, but other than that I am very impressed and would highly recommend it.

James Gibson (NY) :
First, let me say I am not a computer nerd trying to find everything wrong with a laptop. Now, about the Zenbook, it is built very well, love the design and solidity of this ultrabook. The lid opens easily, there is a small tab on the top to open the screen from the bottom, so don't believe anyone when they say they can't open it. So I turned it on, I did the updates which were very easy to do, they were almost automatic. The trackpad and the wireless work with out any problems, I really like that the left and right click buttons on the pad actually click. Typing on the keyboard is different, but I have had no problems. The battery seems to last forever. Now for the best part, this thing starts up so fast, even after I loaded the Norton Antivirus on it. It wakes from sleep very fast, it connects to my wireless home network almost instantly. So, it does what a laptop is supposed to do, plus it's light, fast, and looks really good. I am probably going to buy one for my boyfriend for Christmas. Hope this review helps. Oh yea, the screen on this is really crisp.

SteveC. (US) :
Purchased version with the Elon touchpad, and the early problems have been resolved with updates and adjusting to a new laptop. This is a delightful product that, while rather steeply priced, is one I would make again if given the choice. My only complaint is the lack of an 8Gb RAM option.

C. Wayman "Waymo" (Navarre, FL.) :
This is by far the best buy for your buck. Throw a solid state drive in and you will cookin with grease. Everything seems to be awesome so far except the wifi car sucks. It only hooks up to 2.3 Ghz wifi stream not a 5 Ghz.

Bvjack (Sherburne, New York United States) :
This laptop is just what I expected. not too light, not too heavy. Extremely fast start-up. It arrived on time and doesn't have all the unnecessary pre-loaded apps and programs that are on others. There is only one issue and that is the space bar. If you don't hit it in the "right" spot it does not advance the cursor. Maybe it's just the one I received, but I can see where the Keyboard is slightly raised in the middle and I think that is what the problem is.

Miles De Wind (USA) :
Well this is not a high power laptop but it runs most things. If you want to play games on it works very well with simpler games like leauge of legends. That being said if you try to do more than one thing at a time its going to run slow. Real slow.

ASUS K55N-DS81 15.6-Inch Discounts

Ms Milk (Georgia) :
I bought this laptop for $379 and it is definitely a great deal. My only dislikes are that there's a number pad squeezed in which makes it harder to type, the battery saving mode negatively affects the wireless (this can be turned off under the advanced power options), you need two fingers to scroll, and the speakers are really tinny. I use it for internet and mild gaming. It can run the Sims 3 at 50FPS, Minecraft, Skyrim, and Cube World beautifully. The Max RAM is 16GBs not 8 like the details say. I loved that it did not come with bloatware. Norton and a few pointless Windows 8 games were the only things I had to remove.

Dave (USA) :
Product is nice, good wide screen, adequate performance. Bought this two weeks ago as a family machine and it serves the need admirably. As an IT professional I see lots of machines, this appears well made, solid feel. I added 4 GB or RAM, which I would recommend. One problem is with the touchpad in combination with Windows 8: certain movements are interpreted as "gestures" and frustrate the kids. Generally, Windows 8 is a bit of an issue for all.

Betsyhikes "betsyhikes" (MA) :
Yes, windows 8 takes some getting used to, but this laptop made it easy. I thought I would buy a wireless mouse to help me navigate, but the Asus track pad is very good. After a few weeks, I no longer need the mouse. You just need to learn how to make it work with swipes, taps, etc. I also read the previous posts and using the windows with the x key bring up the "old drop down menu" to reveal the familiar items we accessed using the start key. So far this meets my needs. I use Quicken and thus the apple laptops were out of the question for me. I am not a gamer, just google mail, internet, and with the rain and heat wave checking the weather often! I set up a tile on the windows page to have easy access to google and quicken.

Sam F (California) :
I love my Zenbook Prime. I have not had any issues that others have reported such as WiFi, fan, screen, etc. I am completely satisfied with the laptop. The screen resolution is amazing and makes me hate my other laptop from work that much more. The Zenbook Prime starts up super fast and returns from sleep even faster. Once I removed all of the bloatware from Asus, I think the whole system is running a bit faster. The keyboard is tight and responsive without being loud. I am also enjoying the many gestures available for the touch pad to make navigating that much easier. To me, the backlit keyboard is pointless since I am not typing in the dark, so I turn down the brightness to zero in order to preserve battery. On top of all of the great features in the laptop, ir was nice to open the box and find a nice sleeve, all of the adapters I might need, and even a pouch that matches the sleeve to hold all of the adapters. So far it seems like Asus thought of everything when putting together the Zenbook Prime. I highly recommend this laptop.

Asus Unsatisfied (Seattle, WA United States) :
You will not be able to upgrade or replace any major part of this ultra-book. 4GB Ram is soldered, I can't get it upgraded. The SSD is proprietary, and no one is selling it. I have contacted the customer service to have my SSD replaced due to my special employment arrangement. Asus would not sell me a replacement part, and sent me an email with suppliers that would either have no inventory or sell me at least 1000+ units of this SSD as minimum order quantity. There is no way to purchase this SSD anywhere online. Not China, not Taiwan, and not North America either. My experience with MLC (Multi level cell) SSD is that it will degrade over 2 years period of time, at the end of the two year, it will be so slow that it will take 20 minutes to start up. For an investment of fifteen

Anastasia Hulet (22 Knightbridge Road) :
Its not as good as I expected. I have the same problem as another customer where the spacebar doesn't register sometimes. The battery life isn't very long so it has to stay plugged in for most of the time. The Startup is also a little slow. So overall rating, not impressed. Gonna return It and buy a different computer.

Dissatisfied Customer (Reading, PA) :
I ordered a new laptop, but they sent me a refurbished laptop with pre-used problems. The space bar had to be pressed hard on the right side to work and on the second day I had it, the mouse wouldn't move and the screen would freeze up repeatedly! I had to turn it off then back on to make it work, but it would eventually happen again. Lastly, it kept overheating to the point where I thought it was going to catch fire. This laptop was horrible! I would not recommend this to anyone!

Marcia Bisaga (USA) :
I seldom write one star reviews but this computer earned it. It has been rather slow from the beginning, and now after a year, it is virtually usable, No, I don't have tons of popups or anything on it and I do not go to porn sites. All i do with it is software development. I upgraded my RAM to 8 GB and it's got 4 GB free, and the CPU monitor says CPU is 35% but the computer is unusable. I am very unhappy with asus in general and this laptop in particular. Buy anything else!

Joshua Wibisono (Bowling Green, KY) :
I bought this laptop on Cyber Monday Sale for a total of $545, after tax and shipping. It was a pretty good investment considering that it is i5 and 750GB hard drive. The only setback on this laptop is the sound. The sound sounds a little choppy and, but you can just buy speakers or use a headset to fix this problem. Overall, good laptop for school/gaming and I would recommend this laptop to my friends/family.

Asus TF600T-B1-BUNDLE Discounts

Wayne "comprev" (Fort Worth, TX United States) :
When the unit is docked, it is supposed to pull power from the docks battery first. That way, when undocked, the tablet has the maximum possible charge in its own battery. Instead, the unit pulls fromt the tablet's battery first while docked, leaving the tablet's battery dead when it's undocked. The unit has been sent to Asus's tech support with a narrative of the exact steps needed to show the problem. They failed to repair the unit. In fact, they returned the dock to me from their Grapevine, TX repair center (where the unit was dropped off) and returned the tablet from CA, so the folks working on it didn't even have BOTH parts available to test if they had repaired the unit. We had also swapped the unit at the retail store for another brand new unit and it has the same problem. I've asked Asus to do something that should be very, very simple. Pull a unit off the shelf and follow my steps and see what they get on a totally different unit. Since we've already swapped the unit for another brand new one at the store, it appears to be a design problem, not a problem with my unit. So far, they have refused to follow this simple testing step.

The Wildweb "Namssog Dor" (VA Beach) :
This tablet is a wonderful deal - IF you don't want to run standard Windows apps. It ONLY runs apps from the Microsoft RT Store - even though WIN-RT is touted as Windows 8 made for tablets, it misses a LOT for Windows 8 functionality. Nearly every app I tried to download and install fails with the error - "This app will not install on this PC." AND it costs $125 + shipping to return it - think I'll sell it down at the Bay and make some $$$.

Phung Anh Tuan (Ho Chi Minh, Viet Nam) :
no brainer set up works, great design and good build quality, very slim body & solid feels. Windows 8 still need a lot of app for this to function properly dfdasdfsd

G. M. Moon (Lake George, NY USA) :
It's a great performing, traveling and looking ultrabook, but I'm referring to the one I purchased, the UX31A-3317U which is identical in every way, except it HAS a touchscreen!! Windows 8 without a touchscreen is a nonsensical mess. With a touchscreen is quite enjoyable. But Amazon lists this model without any mention of the touchscreen. So, sadly, I recommended this model to a friend and when it arrived, surprise!! No touchscreen. And for the same price as my touchscreen model! And the *exact* same model number!!
Looking now through the description for this, it certainly doesn't make it obvious, it simply doesn't say that it IS the touchscreen model. Now, my friend has to return it, pay a restocking fee, and possibly pay more money for a model with the touchscreen. What a waste of time and money! So, frustration dampens her enthusiasm for this otherwise great machine. I notice that at least ONE honest vendor on Amazon lists them with either "Touchscreen" or "NON-Touchscreen" to help people make the right choice.

Arun Kumar (Huntington, WV United States) :
Wifi keep getting disconnected, no reliable internet connection (same time all other wireless devices working fine), also not fast as expected, had to return it.

Gkaimme (USA) :
I did not want Windows 8 and this was a good deal for the few Windows 7 computers out there. The size and weight are very pleasing, and it came well packaged (not too much extraneous packing materials) and with a quality sleeve which was a nice surprise. If you have a lot of music, photos, or other large files, you will likely need an external hard drive and/or cloud storage as 128GB doesn't hold much, but the speed that the solid state drive and processor offer is fantastic, and the USB 3.0 ports charge my devices and transfer data incredibly fast.

Had the laptop for 25 days, sailing along just fine. Suddenly there was a dialogue box saying that ASUS was pushing out an update. It started, the screen went blank and the computer was dead.
I called ASUS CS, third attendant was understandable - language wise. He said that the hard drive was gone and they would replace it for $300.
I shipped it back to Amazon.
Beware.

Toni-ann Canova (Columbus, OH USA) :
For the price, you can't beat it. Has a super fast start-up and fast run time. Only negatives I see so far is compared to my last laptop, and HP, the webcam isn't as good. And I know this is something probably stupid, but it gets finger smudges really easily, especially on the top, and they're pretty hard, almost impossible, to get off. I would get a case but I can't find one, so probably gonna end up buying a skin for it. Also, the swiping of the touchpad takes some getting used to, but that's mostly because of Windows 8, not the laptop itself. Worth it! Love how slim it is yet still has the CD drive, I know a lot of slimmer laptops are getting rid of them now so it's nice this one still has it.

Julio Aldana "Julio from NY" (BROOKLYN, NY) :
I got this PC to replace my outdated MacBook Pro because there was no way I could afford another Apple computer and this was such a great deal. Not only that but specs wise it wasn't at all bad. Plus my 3 year old computer gave me all the money I needed to subsidize this purchase through Gazelle.com. Upon receiving it I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it started up. Windows 8 took a little getting used to but on the whole it isn't that much different from any of the more recent versions of Windows. All the applications I've used in the past work fine. Then again it's mainly Google Chrome and iTunes so it really shouldn't be that much of a hardship for my computer. To sum up. I'm glad I got this computer. It didn't hurt my wallet all that much and I look forward to using this for the next 3 years or so.

This Laptop is amazing, super fast, I am disagreement with the review where say Your palm will hit the track pad as you type and the cursor will jump, I am quick typist, and I do not have that problem

P. Jarrett (Ames, Iowa, USA) :
I spent several days looking and comparing features on ultra books. I almost bought the Asus Convertible but decided on this model instead. This is an easy review to write as I cannot find anything that I don't like about this unit. In particular, I love the size, weight, and speed as well as the overall appearance. The keyboard is a perfect size for my large hands and the touch pad is very responsive. I don't understand the person that gave this a 1 star and complained about the keyboard. I have had no problems at all. I would highly recommend this model to my friends. It is a little pricey but for me, it is worth the money

Ronald M Vogt (Santa Clara, CA United States) :
I had a problem with the right side speaker but other than that I love the PC. I thought that I would miss having the touch screen feature on this one like my wife has on her PC, but she rarely uses it. I don't think that I would use it much either. Amazon is the best. They have a replacement one on its way already even though they have not received my defective one yet. My defective one is on it's way but I thought it is great business customer service that they want me to be completely satisfied and have this issue resolved as soon as possible. Very classy of Amazon.

Ralph Lelii (houston tx) :
I buy lots of computers because I teach and use technical innovation whenever I can. I bought this thinking it was an inexpensive backup that I could use. I don't write many reviews, but I am writing this because this is literally a piece of junk. ASUS makes good stuff, but they should not sell something regardless of price point if it is useless. I don't even use it. The track pad is the worst I have ever seen and that is saying something. Every time I touch it two or three windows open. The screen is barely above wretched, the battery lasts about 90 minutes and the cursor is hard to control. The machine freezes every five minutes or so and then you have tow wait about 2 minutes for it to unfreeze. You may think I am making this up but I am not. It is a piece of junk-avoid it like the plague.

Nicholas Roberts "nicktide" (Raleigh, NC) :
This is a great little notebook. The design is attractive and it functions flawlessly. The only drawback is that the keyboard is not backlit, but I knew that before purchasing it. The price was great and the build quality is on par with much more expensive machines. ASUS is now my first choice for any laptop needs.

Chris Pierce (New York, NY United States) :
Purchased for school and has been great. Bought 3 weeks ago and the only problem I have had was not getting distracted by all the extras and games and focusing on my school work. Battery lasts about 4 hours with heavy use. I have seen many people complaining about windows 8 and I can only assume that they were not using a touch screen. I actually like Windows 8 but could understand someone not liking it if they had to use a mouse to perform some of the functions like scrolling through the start menu.

I LOVE MY TAICHI!!! It's so much lighter than my other laptop which makes it great for travel. And because it also transforms into a tablet, makes it so much more fun to use and explore. I also love the fact that it has a lighted keyboard so I can type without turning on the lights - perfection! And Windows 8 has turned out to be a step up in operating systems ... finally, I think they got it right since Windows XP!

Janet Chapman (Miami, FL, US) :
Although it is a wonderful laptop once it works properly, the battery wouldn't charge fully and customer service didn't speak English well enough to understand what the problem was. After 2 separate phone calls to customer service, we finally had to return the whole unit as there is no way to return only the battery (why is that?). Took 3-4 weeks to get laptop back (way too long!) but now works fine

Jean M Ward (Houston, TX) :
Love everything about my new Asus 21 Taichi Laptop/Tablet. Learning Windows 8 is not the challenge I thought it would be, UTube has been a great resource for tutorials. The interfacing of the programs and apps on this computer is exceptional. I love the ease of use that even a grandmother can master. It is convenient to carry with me due to its thinness and very low weight. This will be my new travel ultra-book as well as my lounging around the house computer. Asus you have done it again!! Thank You!

I bought this to replace an Hp laptop that was old and stopped working. The price is what caught my eye. I talked to a friend at work (in IT) before buying and I was reassured that Asus makes a good product. So far I haven't had any issues. This notebook has lots of features and was a great buy. You can't go wrong for the price.

D. CAPONIGRO "MEERKATMOM" (Astoria, NY) :
Windows 8 is guaranteed to drive you nuts until you learn how to handle it. The ASUS computer is great with a 17.3 inch screenand so far is working just fine. I am sure when I have mastered windows 8 then it will be perfect.

Sanada (NJ) :
This is a great Laptop if you don't want purchase a Desktop. It is very well made and functions very well. The only thing I would say I don't like about it is that the speakers are located on the bottom of the laptop and when your laptop is on a surface you do lose some sound, if you have headphones it's not an issue but you won't always be using headphones and it can be annoying. Other than that the Laptop is great and I would recommend it to anyone.

ASUS Vivobook V550CA-DB71T 15.6-Inch Discounts

Renell (Michigan) :
We bought the ASUS V550CA for my daughter who was entering college. When we the PC started an auto-update from Windows 8 and then did a restart, the screen would not come back or the hard drive became inactive. We tried everything to boot into safe mode with no luck. I replaced with the same model, because at this price point it is hard to beat and Amazon too the 1st laptop back without issue. Not sure if the issue was a bad interaction with Windows 8 and the newer touch screen technology or a hard drive issue corrupted after a Windows 8 update. Based on the feedback from ASUS support, they are not aware of this issue, but should be looking into it as I have seen threads related to this problem on-line.

Shane Miller "shaneallen2000" (Nassau, The Bahamas) :
I have had two Asus Android Tablets-the original Transformer TF101 and the nexus 7. I am still using my 2 year old transformer!! This laptop rocks .For the price ,the specs are awesome and it includes an optical drive all in a thin profile. I am still learning my way around Windows 8 -missing that Start button but 8.1 should correct that. Wish the speakers were louder and wish it had an sd card reader but other than that I am thoroughly enjoying this very fast and fun Laptop.
Update: there is an sd card slot hidden below the front surface on the bottom left side and the speakers are better than I thought initially.

A. Garcia "Al from Texas" (Great state of TEXAS) :
This computer has exceeded my expectations. I have not tested it thoroughly, but so far, it has worked great. It is very responsive, and windows 8 works much better than expected. I would highly recommend that you go with a computer that has touch screen capabilities, as that is what makes windows 8 fun. I will update if I run across any issues.

ASUS VivoBook S400CA-DH51T 14-Inch Discounts

NB (Rockville, MD USA) :
Laptop is good, boots up very fast. Screen response to touch is excellent. Keyboard is not the best, but its not too bad either. Had initial hiccup with HD streaming videos being choppy (on both Netflix and YouTube). Removed Asus Power4Gear battery saver software, and now everything runs perfectly fine (This program throttled the CPU to conserve battery, the lower CPU speed caused HD streaming to be choppy). Also McAfee antivirus is unnecessary. I miss the dedicated volume keys, wish there was a function lock key.

Benjamin M. Bethel "Owner/General Manager - T... (Phoenix, AZ USA) :
It takes a little while to get used to Windows 8, but it's actually pretty great. The touch screen on this computer works flawlessly and never shows fingerprints. Works awesomely, no complaints here, and would consider buying more for my employees. You shouldn't spend any more than this on a computer, there's no sense. Save the extra $600 over a more expensive computer and buy yourself a flight to Hawaii or Costa Rica.

Pcolastudent (Phoenix, USA) :
I previously owned an Asus EeePC for about 4 years before it was time for an upgrade. I bought this VivoBook model in December, and couldn't be happier. It is the most advanced technology available, and the touch screen works great. Windows 8 does take a bit of getting used to, the live tiles are easy to use but using apps on a computer is a bit unnecessary, but I may be old fashioned. The computer has a great appearance, the screen is clear and bright, great brushed finish, I've had several tell me it looks like a MacBook because of its high quality. The touch pad is a little sensitive in my opinion, but with practice the responsiveness becomes very advantageous. the i5 processor is fast, and it has all the USB and SD options one should need. Overall a great buy.

ASUS X550CA-DB51 15.6-Inch Discounts

Matthew V Menke (PORT NECHES, TX, US) :
The computer is ok, but the touch pad is a huge problem for me. It is too sensitive or doesn't work right. I also had a windows update problem where it would take forever to restart because of updating. The pc works fine when you plug a mouse in it.

Usha Rani Akkina (WA) :
Performance is very slow.My older laptop with a much lesser configuration worked better than this laptop
Had internet issues.Once the internet was turned off and wouldn't turn on unless I restarted the laptop.
Not happy with the mouse. The mouse little jumpy.

Wenzhen (USD) :
The laptop was good but it auto close when I go to skype. The sound was good and it really instant on my pc. Cons is only 2 usb port is available. I am really in love with this laptop despite the screen is 15.6 inches. IF you want a pc for basic use, this laptop is suitable for you.

Computer Whiz (NY) :
I am wondering if the reviewer who gave the one star is knowledgeable at all about computers. I design them and I have to say the low power cpu, 15 w compared to one using much more translates into long battery life. Face it if you just use a base number and say it is terrible, you dont understand that the cpu speed scales with need. most time in a computer the cpu does little and its response is not required to be fast for those tasks as it is wasting power. this cpu can run from 1.8 to over 3 ghz depending on the need and allowing lower power consumption. The new Haswell processor also has a number of features that make it more efficient at lower speed meaning to accomplish a task it does not need to run as fast as an older processor to do the same work. Maybe the person giving only one star works for apple, or maybe is just computer illiterate but either way it is saddening to see ranting rather than facts in reviews.

VKA (USA) :
Low power CPU's are usually more expensive and have lower speed. Most of MacBook Air use these family of CPUs.
If you want higher speeds, then it will overheat like an oven where you can fry an egg.
So, choice is yours. I prefer low power CPUs. Now they are able to make up to 2GHZ and 3GHz in turbo mode based on current available technology.

William B. Green (Dallas, TX) :
Why would you spend that much for a computer with a 1.8 processor....5400 hard drive....slow stuff...$$$too much you can find much faster machines ...for the same price...unless you just want a fashion statement ...buy a MAC if you need to throw money away.

ASUS 1015E-DS01-PK 10.1-Inch Discounts

Pbike908 (Annapolis, MD United States) :
Great little computer for on the go! Plenty powerful enough for web browsing and running apps such as Open Office, Adobe Reader, etc. Battery appears to last a minimum of 6 hours. Keyboard and touchpad a little funky, but easy enough to get accustomed to. Works great with Classic Shell. No touch screen but that's OK with me. It runs a little warm so we'll see how long it lasts. For $270, it's well worth the money. Oh, and unlike the tablet convertibles such as the new HP and the new Samsung, it's not top heavy meaning you can easily use it on your lap. Great little screen as well. I got this to replace an old Atom netbook that ran Windows 7. This little bugger blows the old Netbooks away. If you want something on the go, that has a keyboard, and can run full blown Windows programs, then it's a winner. Combine this with a home computer synched to cloud storage and you are good to go!

Fritz Zwicky "Fritz" (Illinois, USA) :
I wanted something small for travel, but when I tested touch screen tablets I wasn't happy. What I hated was the OS used and the fact that only very expensive models have usb in-ports. I explored 10" laptops and from the reviews it was clear that this is the only one to consider. I balked at buying a computer with windows 8, because I dislike the Metro interface. My concerns melted away once the laptop was delivered and I installed startisback software. Now it looks and feels like windows 7. The 10" screen is beautiful and the keyboard is fine. The processor response is acceptable and it can run Photoshop well. The small hard drive is no problem with the use of thumb drives. The price is the best part. Forget touch screen tablets and buy this machine. The only small gripe is I wish the battery lasted all day.

Amreink "Anne R." (Cleveland, OH USA) :
I have owned this Asus 1015E laptop for over a week now and love everything about it, including the oh, so feminine pink color. I read all the reviews before purchasing it, and again after I had it for a while. Yes, at first there were times when it ran slowly and/or crashed. But there are several very helpful reviews here that will fix this. Of particular value to me was the June 20, 2013 review by BinaryMonKey Eagle Eye, who instructs you how to make this notebook run smooth and fast. I followed most of his/her instructions and it runs as fast as my Intel i7 machines! This notebook will be excellent for travel - thin and light-weight. Has a wonderful keyboard that feels and responds just as well as my more powerful computers. I also have an Android tablet, but wanted something with a larger hard drive for picture/video backup. I am very pleased with my purchase and LOVE this little machine!

ASUS N56VJ-DH71 15.6-Inch Full-HD Discounts

Roman Budzianowski "software guy" (Seattle) :
My son really loved this laptop. It was big and heavy but quite powerful. He could play his games without problems. However after 2 weeks it suddenly wouldn't boot. I tried booting from a repair CD, from a USB stick with linux. I kept getting boot sequence error. Asus support said it was hardware fault and sent me a mailing label. However, I decided to return it to Amazon and buy a different laptop. Maybe it was just a fluke, but it shouldn't happen.

S. T. Kondrotas (Los Angeles, CA) :
I needed a laptop with a screen that would allow me to use Photoshop while travelling. I have a couple of other laptops but they are useless for Photoshop. Since I am very happy with my ASUS ProArt desktop monitor, I decided to go with this laptop. It was right decision. I've just returned from a long trip abroad and the only problem is I am reluctant to get back to my desktop computer, so good is this laptop.

Kenny Gould (Lenoir, NC USA) :
No complaints! Sound is good as advertised. It's fast, light weight, and sleek. I hooked up a 24 inch monitor and work dual monitor on it all the time. Runs my RTS games at highest settings.

Asus ZenBook UX32A-R3502H Radiant Silver 13.3" Discounts

M. Rogers "Matt" (Phoenix, AZ United States) :
I was pretty excited to get this ultrabook. It really is well built and I love the backlit keyboard, size, and weight. Unfortunately the screen was DOA. Never worked. The keyboard lit up, power button indicated hard disk was running. Returned it. May just be a one-off, but kind of off-putting for my first ASUS purchase. Got an HP ultrabook instead. Much heavier, but still nice.

S. Tan (St. Paul, MN USA) :
This machine looks great and feels solid. Purchased on Amazon for a good price for the specs and ultrabook looks/size/weight. I thought the track pad was ultra sensitive because it does random things like make the cursor jump around and highlight blocks of text and erases them. I looked on line and this seems to be because the multitouch feature on the track pad doesn't work well. I haven't disabled it yet but plan to, hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Enrique Iglesias (USD) :
I'm so glad with this purchase. I chose the refurbished version from Ocean Reef and the result is great. US$ 100 less and feels completely new.
The laptop looks great. The computer is fast and responsive. The touchpad (once I deactivated the tap function) works smooth and great. I would definetely recommend it.

ASUS Taichi 21-DH71 11.6-Inch Discounts

Ray Mitchell (San Juan PR) :
I have got two taichi and both did not work out the box. The first one in tablet mode the screen would flicker like a strobe light. The second one was worst the tablet would not power up at all and in laptop mode the screen was upside down. The keyboard would not light up. I got it from data vision the worst service ever!! It took forever to replace the first one and taking forever for a refund. There service by far worst than the PC!!

Drpret "Preetham" (White Plains, NY United States) :
I had bought two of these, one for myself and one for my inlaws.. It comes well packed in a great box. The Taichi is very stylish and looks great. Setting it up was very easy and it boots up and shuts down in seconds. There was one issue to note: The auto rotate on the tablet side can sometimes turn off. I had to call ASUS Taichi support, which is free and 24/7 dedicated to this product which is great. If this happens to your notebook just access the display settings (resolution page) from the tablet side and check the auto rotate button on. This setting is not available from the notebook side which makes can make this a nightmare if you don't figure this out. Two ASUS tech reps did not know what to do, the third did. This means keep calling until you find a good rep. Now I can kick back and watch movies on the tablet side and crunch out work in the day time on the notebook side. Loving it so far.
